Because I am a loser, I decided to actually start writing drabbles again.
So uh. Here's some LockAlle fluff. It...technically takes place in the T'oran-Samu universe, but it could really fit anywhere.
"Just relax, Allelujah. You're way too tense for this. It's not going to work this way..."
The younger Meister sighed in frustration, his grip on Lockon's waist tightening. "It's not like I've ever done this before," he muttered, eyes fixated on the floor beneath them. "Give me a little leeway." The chuckle that he got in response only made him frown further, which in turn only increased said chuckling. "It's not that funny!"
"Sorry, sorry," Lockon laughed. "You look so adorable when you pout like that. Now," he said, not commenting on it any further even as Allelujah looked up at him with a mixture of curiosity and embarrassment, "Relax. It's not as difficult as it looks, really. Once you start and get the hang of things, it all comes natural. Just let your body move."
One step, then another, then another. Allelujah's gaze had returned to the floor, watching their feet as they moved; not that it helped all that much, because it was only a few movements in that he felt himself stumbling. The other man caught him before he could fall over, laughing again. "Come on, Alle. Eyes up here." A hand went under Allelujah's chin to force him to look up, eye to eye. "If you keep watching your feet, you're bound to trip again. You should know them well enough by now to figure out where they're going."
Allelujah gave an embarrassed, sheepish smile, part of him wondering why he had bothered asking Lockon to teach him how to dance in the first place. Okay, there was a simple answer to that---there was a winter ball coming up, and he didn't want to look like a fool in case he had to dance with someone for whatever reason. It wasn't as if he had any reason to learn how to do it when he was younger, so there he was at age twenty, student to his best friend .
(Of course, part of his mind was nagging at him the entire time, as while Lockon was teaching him, he was teaching him the wrong part. The female part. He was going to comment on it, but figured that Lockon might take it the wrong way for whatever reason, so he figured that it couldn't be too hard to adapt.)
"Now. Let's try again. Just follow me. Here, I'll count to make it easier." Lockon gripped Allelujah's hand a little tighter, giving him a reassuring smile, before starting the dance again. "One, two three...one, two, three..."
The movements were nothing short of jerky and awkward at first, but at the very least, Allelujah wasn't tripping over himself again. He followed Lockon's actions and counts, technical at first, before realizing that it wasn't helping and he was still nervous and tense. Lockon was right---dancing was about fluid movements. Slowly, he willed his body to relax, letting the older man lead him, going as far to lessen his concentration. He noticed a little while later with a smile that it seemed to work, and although he was far from perfect, he was making progress.
"Good, good! Just keep at it like so," Lockon said, speeding up the pace a little as he noticed Allelujah becoming more comfortable with the movements. The pair waltzed their way around the living room, careful to mind the coffee table, Lockon humming a tune to help it out more. They continued at this for a while, Allelujah's confidence increasing with every step. "Now," Lockon remarked as he noted this, "You can add in a little flourish to spice things up. Like so."
Allelujah made a small sound of surprised as he felt himself being twirled and spun outwards, clinging onto Lockon's hand harder instinctively and trying not to fall over. He understood what the man was trying to do; it was more of a matter of not having expected it. Before he could think it over, he was spun back in, and Lockon's arm was around him, pulling him against him tight. Close. Much closer than they had just been.
Their feet continued to shift, but it was more swaying at this point than anything. "This is when you can get romantic with whoever you're dancing with. It's a great excuse to get close." Allelujah felt the voice against his ear, murmuring. He moved, turning himself around to face the other Meister, the distance seeming even less now that they were face to face.
"That's...right. I'll, uh, keep that in mind." He was already feeling his face begin to heat up, and hid it by pressing it against Lockon's shoulder (which was, he hoped, perfectly natural when people were dancing like this).
"Yep," Lockon chirped after a short pause, as he looked curiously down at the other. "You'll be able to capture the hearts of any girl if you manage this right."
Allelujah laughed into his shoulder, shaking his head a little. "...Yeah. Will keep that in mind too."
If only you knew.
The realization of it all finally fully hitting him, Allelujah quickly pulled away, letting go of Lockon and stepping back once the other man's arms had loosened as well. "Right, so...uh. Thanks. I think that'll work," he said in a rush, eyes going back to the safe spot of the floor. "Yeah. Thanks. I'll...go make dinner now. See you."
Before the other man could even respond, Allelujah had hightailed it out of the living room without another word. Lockon watched after him, confused, not fully understanding the sudden shift in Allelujah's expression and why he had run off so quickly. Maybe the embarrassment of the situation had hit him, or...
He shook his head. Either way, it was a good experience.
He'd have to think of another dance to teach Allelujah.
