I saw Aida for the 5th time today.
After my mom came home, her, me and my dad went to the city. We picked up the tickets and went to eat at The Olive Garden. I was almost sick from eating so much! Afterwards we went into the Marriot Marquis hotel to look around more. Then we went to Virgin Megastores (fuggin HUGE music/movie store) to find the theater where the Cowboy Bebop movie would take place.
However my mom wanted to look around while I looked for the movie theater in the place, so...yeah. Later on my mom and I waited somewhat near the stage door of Aida so I could hopefully catch a glimpse of my beloved Adam (he, Adam Pascal, plays Radames, a leading character in the show). I did, although I was too shy to run up and ask for an autograph. My mom and I then went to a place called Barcode. Big arcade and nightclub. Played a little Crazy Taxi and laughed at the DDR 1st mix machine.
We then went back to the theater and met up with my dad again. We went inside, took our seats. The seats were AWESOME. I was right next to the center isle, row F (7th row, I believe). And the guy sitting in front of me was short. So I had a PERFECT view.
The show was great! This was the last time I'd see Maya as Aida, since Simone (normal Aida) is coming back from vacation soon. So I commited everything to memory.
The first song, Every Story is a Love Story, was pretty good. But I don't think Felicia (Amneris) was singing at her best. Fortune Favors the Brave was great, although the soldiers made a little mistake in the beginning. Oh well. After that I got to drool over a shirtless Adam! ...anyway. The Past is Another Land was great. I'd like to take the time now to mention there were a group of obsessed fans in the front row. Anyway.
Another Pyramid was also great. I love that song. Although I couldn't help but laugh when John (Zoser...or however you spell that name) made a mistake. He was supposed to say "I'll see you at the banquet" to Adam/Radames, but he wound up saying "I'll see you at the wedding...er, banquet...". XD!!
How I Know You was done well. The guy who plays Mereb...I think his name is Delisco? He's really great. My Strongest Suit was hilarious as always..Felicia did a great job. Hmm...trying to remember what was next...
Enchantment Passing Through was great. I love it when Maya does the little hand thing at the end when she's walking off, it's hilarious. You go, girl! Dance of the Robe was also great, I love the dancing in it. Well, yeah. XD Not Me is one of my favorite songs, and I loved it in this performance! Elaborate Lives is my second favorite song in the show, and it was sung BEAUTIFULLY by Adam and Maya. Yay, shirtless Adam again! ...*eh em* Anyway.
The Gods Love Nubia, like always, was very moving. Then was intermission. Lalalala. When the show started again, my 3rd favorite song, A Step Too Far, started. I love how they have the green lights forming a triangle, signifying the love triangle between Radames, Aida, and Amneris. Easy as Life was extremely powerful and touching, awesome job Maya. Like Father, Like Son was good. Radames' Letter, albeit short, is extremely pretty and I liked it a lot.
Written In the Stars is my favorite song in the entire show. Again, done EXTREMELY well. I Know the Truth was good (damn I'm getting really repetative). The reprise of Elaborate Lives was, like Easy as Live, very touching. The short reprise of Enchantment Passing Through almost made me cry. And it ended with the final reprise of Every Story is a Love Story.
I left and ran out to the area by the stage door, waiting to get autographs. I bought a music book of all the songs in the show (sheet music and such). I got Delisco (Mereb) to sign the "How I Know You" page. Then out came Adam! He signed the page for "Not Me" and I got a picture with him. And it didn't come out. So my dad got another picture. And I asked for just one more picture so I can have it on my digicam. And my dad SCREWED THAT UP. So in total I got four pictures with him! I felt so embarrased but then again, it was a great excuse to have Adam's arm around my shoulders a lot! *blush*
I got John (Zoser) to sign "Another Pyramid", and got Maya and Felicia to also sign "Not Me". I talked to Maya for a bit, then left.
God. That was just great. ^_________^
