Oct. 8th, 2007 05:13 pmOnce again, so much for keeping this thing updated.
Classes are decent so far. Theatre is mostly fun (will get more to that later), communications rather interesting, philosophy interesting as well (with the plus of having a professor I've had before, and liked), Japanese a bucket of weeaboo retarded funtimes, and history...well, history sucks, but what can you do. 4 out of 5 isn't bad.
I've got two papers and a play (well, a few scenes, anyway) due by the end of the week. Philosophy's half done, though I still don't know what I'm talking about. History is mostly done, needs editing and for me to add some more information in it. And theatre...
The assignment? Write a short, 5-10 page play. I get the brilliant idea to write about Damien. Of course, condensing the story into that amount of pages? Not too easy. I got 12 pages in, gave up and ended the thing. It was fairly obvious that it was Spark Notes for a bigger story, however, and my teacher gave me the option of restructuring it, just handing in two or so scenes, and outlining the rest of it.
Which would be easy if I actually knew where the story was headed. Setting it in a different time period changes things, too.
In addition, she suggested and even encouraged I acknowledge/refer to/rip off of Jekyll & Hyde more. The musical, even. This one suggestion has now led me to rework the entire story, and now, Damien and Cosmas have new motives and wants. Well, shit. Back to the drawing board.
This is going to be some job, but it's going to be interesting, at least. I've decided to use the musical as a sort of backdrop to it all, and you bet your ass Damien and Cosmas are going to take some pointers from it. There's still a lot of new things I have to think about, though... And I need to come up with several new scene ideas. Damnit, I don't do good with deadlines. I've RPed these guys for nine months and I still don't get them, and I have a week to make a complete story? Grah. Though the idea to use the musical may help things along. This is a different Damien and Cosmas than I'm RPing. I need to remember that.
Anything to have Cosmas yell "Well guess what, Hoff, if it was me up there ripping my shirt open, the show would still be running!". Much props to Sydney for that.
Damn crazy characters. I'm going back to watching House. Then I'll work on the play a bit before Heroes. And after that, glorious sleep.
Speaking of House? House and Wilson. Yeah. That isn't subtext. That's text.
EDIT: Tadas felt betrayed that I didn't mention him in this entry. So here you go, babe. Much love. Even if you still think the answer to everything is dongs.
