During the beginning of December, I commissioned someone for some artwork. They wanted the $75 (for a full color pic and a sketch) upfront, so, I paid. It was originally supposed to be done before Christmas. I heard nothing about it, and a little after that, she said she'd gotten sick (I think?) but would have it done before New Year's. It was then that she disappeared off of AIM (when she'd be on 24/7 usually), showing up on my buddy list as just being on her mobile AIM. I messaged her a few times with no response until maybe a week or so later, where she said she'd hurt her back. She stopped responding pretty quickly.
It's been three weeks since then. I tried texting her using the option in her LJ profile, leaving a message in her journal so that it'd go to her e-mail--after that last convo, she disappeared off of mobile AIM. No word from her at all.
What should I do? I paid her via PayPal, so I'm wondering if there's anything they can do for me. I don't even want her to do the picture anymore (she said she'd barely even started it, if at all, the time I talked to her after Christmas), I just want my $75 back. That's a pretty sizable chunk of money for me, and getting this commission was a birthday present from my dad.
EDIT: So PayPal can't do anything for me since I paid her over 45 days ago. Fuuuuck.
