Feb. 8th, 2010 03:11 pmMmm nothing like near-death experiences to liven up one's day.
I was on my way back from class, walking from the train station back to my apartment. About...two blocks from home, I'm walking, lala, in front of the synagogue, when I hear tires screeching. Look up, and a car is going fast down the service road that the sidewalk is on, smashing two or three cars out of the way, soaring into the sidewalk, and eventually mowing down a line of bushes and smashing into the stone steps in front of the synagogue.
This happened about twenty feet in front of me.
Seriously, if I was five seconds ahead in where I was walking, I'd probably be dead, considering how fast the car was going and how it slammed into the stone steps.
ughhhhhh
I stuck around a little to see if the driver was okay. Some old as hell guy. His wife was in the passenger seat but the both of them seemed to be fine. And then I left since I just wanted to get home.
A little shaky now, to be honest, of how damn close it was.
EDIT: In happier news, though, I managed to write a little more of my Damien/Max story on the train. I actually got an idea, win.
